Which kind of boiler and grate is suitable for high moisture biomass?

In the field of biomass boiler, one of key to use biomass boiler is choosing the right biomass fuel first. Different fuel types directly affect the performance and environmental protection of the boiler.

Moisture is one of the important factors affecting the burning resistance of biomass fuel. High humidity will increase the moisture in the biomass fuel, thereby reducing the boiler thermal efficiency and steam output of the boiler.

High humidity biomass fuel is very common, such as biomass radiata pine, green sawdust, forest waste, wet wood chips, bagasse, croncob and so on.

For biomass fuels with relatively high moisture, we recommend "water tube boiler + reciprocating grate" with many years of research and operation cases on biomass boilers.

The benefit of reciprocating grate biomass boiler are:

1. The grate speed and angle can be adjusted according to different fuels to ensure complete combustion. It is divided into drying zone, burning zone, post-burning zone and ash zone. The fuel can be drying then burned.

2. The bottom of the feeding device has a rotatable adjusting plate, where has seeding wind. When changing the angle between adjustment plate and horizontal plane, the dropping point on the grate can be adjusted.

3. Three sets of secondary air are set on the furnace. The pitch of convection heating surface is in-line arrangement.

4. Increase the combustion share of middle furnace, reduce the overall temperature of the furnace.

5. Set secondary air, makes the fuel burn out in the furnace。

6. Raise the furnace, increase a large section burn-out chamber, reduce the outlet flue speed, reduce the fly ashamount.

7. Large angle low-speed reciprocating grate to extend the fuel stay time in the furnace, and is conducive to downwardmovement of fly ash.

8. Water-cooled short front arch reduce the temperature before the furnace; adjust the primary air and second air amount before the furnace to control the ignition point.

9. The slow movement of grate makes the fuel gradually moved backward, increase the stay time of the fuel in the furnace

10. Convection heating surface is in the medium temperature and speed to reduce wear.

11. The air preheater with bypass flue duct;adjust the gate of bypass flue duct to change the primary air and flue gas temperature.

12. Biomass fuel is apt to slagging, the convection bank has acoustic wave soot blower, which may remove the soot, and cleaning door is equipped.

13. Both air cooled and water cooled grate designs available, depending on the cooling method selected as per the fuel characteristics
